About Us
Clubs
Students who participate in our after school programming are also afforded opportunities to participate in clubs such as: Zumba, Martial Arts, Art, Photography and the Harmony Project.
Community Partnerships
Our students participate in Project Mentor through Big Brothers Big Sisters. Students at South High School also participate in internships and community service at Chase Bank, Nationwide Insurance, Grange Insurance, Southside C.A.N., and the Franklin County Commissioners, as well as area churches, recreation centers, Silesians Boys and Girls Clubs, Children’s Hospital, and other area businesses.
Curriculum
South High School offers a wide range of academic offerings in a nine period scheduled day format. Students can choose regular, humanities, or advanced placement core classes as well as a comprehensive array of arts including the visual (advanced placement) arts, instrumental and vocal music. We offer courses such as ACT/SAT preparation, college preparation, reading enrichment, aerobics and resistance training. The staff realizes the increased demands for defined skills in technology and is committed to the teaching of technology (robotics club) in an effort to prepare students for leadership and success.
Dress Code
In addition to the CCS Dress Code, South High School prohibits any wearing of the color red.
Fun Activities
South High School offers a wide range of sports and activities and also sponsors events such as homecoming week, spirit days, teacher-student athletic competitions; pep rallies assemblies, and school-wide celebrations and honors.

Parent Involvement
South High School boasts a large alumni base of over 30,000 individuals (the largest in central Ohio). Parents play an important role at South and are encouraged to take advantage of our volunteer opportunities and promote a continued welcoming atmosphere. We have two parent consultants on staff to support parental inclusion in the development of school planning and operations.

Throughout the year we will offer parent workshops.

Our school colors are Royal Blue and Gray.
Vision Statement
We will meet students where they are and move them at least one level on the student achievement continuum as defined by the Ohio Department of education. This will be accomplished through achieving at least one year’s worth of growth through one year’s worth of instruction. We will capitalize and maximize on ALL of our student’s potential for growth.
